PV-diesel and PV-wind-diesel hybrid systems was created by ABDULRAHMAN MOHAMMED BABORAIK
Dear all,

I'd like to ask how can I use SAM to design and simulate the Energy Yield as well as the economic analysis either for PV-diesel, or PV-wind-diesel hybrid systems? Please, Does anyone has run a similar simulation?

Thanks for your response in advance.

Best regards,
Abdulrahman

Dear Abdulrahman,

SAM is not designed to model diesel hybrid systems or off-grid power systems. There are some ways to approximate those systems. HOMER is a model better suited to modeling hybrid power systems with generators than SAM.

Best regards,
Paul.

Thank you so much, Paul.

It's will be a great pleasure if you can tell where I can find the examples in SAM of approximation the off-grid PV systems either with battery or diesel?

Dear Abdulrahman,

You can find some discussion and examples by searching this forum (use the Search box at the top right of this window) for "diesel." Some examples:
