        Hello,
I'm a student of Energy engineer in Brazil and I'm doing a scientific research about hybrids systems. I read at the SAM User Forum that SAM doesn't simulate hydrid systems, but a way to approximate the performance of a hybrid system would be the option "Combine Systems". The ideia is to create criteria that vinculate the conceptions of "hybrid systems" and "complementary" that allow to simulate at the SAM in the context of the regulamentation of Brazil. This is somehow, possible? Do you have any suggest of how to implementation this ideia?
Best regards,
Rebeka.

        Hi Rebeka,
Using SAM's Combine Systems macro would model each power source in a hybrid system as a separate system: The macro simply adds the hourly (or subhourly) output of each system to calculate the total output. That approach would only really work for a hybrid system that does not include storage or a diesel generator, so it is limited.
Best regards,
Paul.
