Dear Mac users,
We issued an update to SAM 2013.1.15 on March 7, 2013. For the Windows version of SAM, a message automatically appears when you first open SAM to inform you of the update, and you can follow the instructions in the message to install the update directly from SAM.
In OS X, the update procedure requires that you first download a new SAM update package from the SAM website and replace the one in your SAM application package. Here are step-by-step instructions:
Download the SAM update package:
SamUpdate_osx_2013.1.15.dmg
.
Open a Finder window and navigate to the SAM application package . If you followed the instructions on the
Downloads page
, it will be in your Applications folder, but it could be in a different folder or on your desktop.
Show the SAM application package contents (Ctrl-click the package name and click
Show Package Contents), and navigate to
Contents\MacOS\ in the package.
Open a new Finder window, and double-click the SAM update package to show its contents. (The package should be in your
Downloads folder unless you saved it to a different folder in Step 1.)
Drag the update package contents (the single file
SamUpdate) to
Contents\MacOS\ in the SAM application package. You should replace the existing
samupdate file in the SAM application package.
Close the Finder windows.
Start SAM 2013.1.15.
When you start SAM, it should open two windows: The SAM window showing the Welcome page, and the SAM Update window that describes the update.
If you do not see the SAM update window, try clicking the second SAM icon in the dock to display it. If you do not see two SAM icons in the dock, try clicking
Check for updates in SAM's
Help menu to open the SAM update window.
Close the Main SAM window, and click
Update in the SAM Update window to start the update.
After the update is complete, you can confirm that your copy of SAM was updated: Click
About in the
SAM menu. The version number at the bottom of the About SAM window should show the following version information: Version 2013.1.15, samsim 2.3.3, ssc 27, Revision 1.
If you have any questions about the update procedure, please reply to this post.
Best regards,
Paul.
