TMY2 file from Meteonorm 5.1 was created by energia
Hello.

I am trying to use weather files in TMY2 format generated by Meteonorm 5.1. When I choose my file, the program says "Invalid weather file c:\sam\.............. Check data for hour 1.

Please, what is wrong on the file.

Regards.

Hello,

Can you tell me what type of system you are modeling? Also, it would be helpful if you would attach your .zsam file to be sure my tests are consistent with your work.

If possible, you may want to consider working with the TMY3 format instead of the TMY2 format. The TMY3 format is a comma-separated format, which makes it easier to work with.

Best regards,
Paul.

Hello Paul,

I'm modeling a flat plate FV commercial project.

About the .zsam file, for confidentiality reasons I would prefer to send it you by mail better than attach it here. Is this possible?

My Meteonorm version donĀ“t export TMY3 format. There is a way to convert TMY2 to TMY3?

Best Regards.

Thank you. It is helpful to know which performance model you are using.

I tested your weather file in SAM, and there seems to be a format problem causing it to display the error message. It is very difficult to tell what the problem might be. Often in such situations there is a problem with the weather file header, but I don't think that is the case with your file (I tried using a text editor to make changes to the header, but that didn't help). I also was able to open the file in DView (See this thread for more about DView), and I don't see anything obviously wrong with the data itself.

Perhaps you've tried these steps already. Does your copy of Meteonorm export to EPW? You could try that.

Another option would be to use SAM's TMY3 Creator to cut and paste data columns from Meteonorm into a TMY3 file. You can find instructions for using the TMY3 Creator in SAM's Help system. Here's a link to that topic in copy of help on the SAM website:

Create TMY3 File

Paul.
