Dear Sir/Madam,

I am recently doing a research on using different TES materials in a physical trough system. May I know where can I get these data inside the software?

Hope to hear from you soon!

Best regards,
Weng Pin.

Hi Weng Ping,

You can find information about the heat transfer fluids that SAM in SAM's Help system: See the "Solar Field" topic under CSP Parabolic Trough, Physical Trough Model. You should find a table of HTF properties and a list of data sources.

Best regards,
Paul.

Dear Paul,

Thanks for your reply.

Do you mean these tables in the picture below?

However, I still cannot find the thermophysical properties of the HTF like specific heat capacity, thermal conductivity, viscosity and so on. Since these properties are varying with the temperature across the literature review, I hope to know the values of these properties used in the SAM simulation. Are these values available in the software?

Best regards,
Weng Pin.

Hi Weng Ping,

See my response in this thread for a link to an Excel file with the fluid properties:
