Mass flowrate in IPH model was created by fayya
Hello Dear,

I would like to know how does SAM calculates "heat sink HTF mass flowrate" for the IPH model, because I have remarked certain discrepancies between what I estimate manually and what SAM estimates. Thank you for your support and reply.

Hi Fayya,

The IPH Trough model uses the same model for the trough system as the Physical Trough model, so you can use the Physical Trough model publications posted here for reference:

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I have already examined the available documents and papers of the Physical Trough model since it is the model used for IPH Trough.
Nevertheless, while examining hourly results for thermal heat sink and mass flowrate at heat sink (which is eventually HTF mass flowrate in the boiler of the power block), I have noticed that mass flowrate deviates a lot from its design value, which can be calculated through an enthalpic balance: flowrate = heat_sink / ( (Tf-Tin)*Cp), I couldn't figure out the reasons for these deviations.
