SAM files was created by omohamud
Hi all,

I am new  to SAM and to the forum..

I have started reading old reference material with videos that have also presentation files and SAM files. I found the material helpful to get started before delving actual modeling.

My understanding is that SAM files, see image,  are sample files that can be used as tutorial. But could not find a way to launch them or read them as SAM project files. What am I missing? Perhaps my understanding of these files is not correct.

I have attached an image

Thanks for your help.

Hi Omar,

The presentation slides link point to a PDF file of slides that were used for the webinar video recordings. The SAM file link should point to a .sam file (or .zsam file for older webinars) that you can download and then open using SAM. You will have to download and install SAM to open the SAM files:

sam.nrel.gov/download

Best regards,
Paul.

Paul,

I got it. Thank you.

Another question if I may..

I am using Third Party/Developer model and all is good. Except if add a battery to the system and try to charge the battery from PV will not charge if I select "no load data" option. However, if I choose with load, PV is charging the battery.  Does "No Load Data" option works with Third Party/Developer model with PV and battery system? Please advice.

I am using SAM 2020 version.

Thanks for the help
