Hi Ty,
Thank you for your update . I have checked my two cases. Both of them obey the rules you mentioned, yet still only one (Flex_no_opt_32) works. Can you have a look at my cases uploaded in my last reply.
Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Juergen

Hi
Neises
,
Thanks for your response.
I followed the rules to avoid the hard crash of V2018.11.11and it is not crashing as before.
However, I am still facing the following errors,
execfail(tcsmolten_salt): At time = 4.32e+06, CR_OFF__PC_TARGET__TES_DC__AUX_OFF
failed
Simulationtcsmolten_salt failed.
SSC requires input'gen', but was not found in the SAM UI or from previous simulations
Simulation singleownerfailed.
I tried the same UDPC in V2017.9.5 and it works for some solar multiple values, for which V2018 didn’t work. Nevertheless, I am getting similar errors like the above in V2017 also when I ran for different solar multiples
with the same UDPC. In addition, I am also getting the below error in V2017 for
some SM. Please note that I am using the same UDPC model that I shared before.
execfail(tcsmolten_salt): CR_ON__PC_RM_LO__TES_EMPTY__AUX_OFF received exception
from mono equation solver
Simulationtcsmolten_salt failed.
SSC requires input'gen', but was not found in the SAM UI or from previous simulations
Simulationsingleowner failed.
Please advise about the possible reasons for these errors and how to avoid them.
Thank you.

Hi,
I attached the parametric analysis for different solar multiple (optimising the heliostat layout/tower checkbox was ticked) and you
can see that the model worked for two SM and throws the error (CR_OFF__PC_TARGET__TES_DC__AUX_OFF atdifferent unrealistic time).
Although SM 2 and 2.6 gave results in the parametric study, the same solar multiple is throwing an error when simulating (Simulate button) as a normal simulation. I
am not sure what could be wrong.
Please advise on this.
Thank you.

Hi Dhinesh,
Would you mind sharing a .sam file that contains your User Defined Power Block input and demonstrates this error?
Thanks,
Ty

Hi Juergen,
Can you please upgrade the files you uploaded in your last reply from the version you used to create them (2017.9.5) to the current SAM version (2018.11.11)? To do so, download and install SAM 2018.11.11 and use it to open the file. If a simulation still causes a crash, could you save the file and attach it along with the weather file you are using so we can test it?
Thanks,
Ty
