Hi Louw,

The physical trough mode does not report the tank-to-tank mass flow rate.

As you suggest, the "TES charge mass flow rate" and "TES discharge mass flow rate" are the field and cycle HTF flow rates.

We've modified the variable labels to make this clearer for the next release of SAM:

Hi Paul

Is this release of SAM (with the modified variable labels) available yet?

Kind regards
Louw

Hi
In the new version of parabolic Trough,
What is the exact definition of the output variables "Mass flow: field to hot TES" and "Mass flow: cycle to cold TES"? I understand that they are the HTF mass flows leaving the cycle to the cold tank and from the field to the hot tank respectively, but I do not understand why "Mass flow: field to hot TES" is the same amount as "Mass flow:TES cold out" and "Mass flow: cycle to cold TES" is the same amount as "Mass flow: TES hot out"

 Thanks so much
