Every time I open up SAM, it says that there are new updates. When I click update, it asks for me to close SAM, which I do. However, almost when it is done updating, it unexpectedly quits. Is there similar problems others are having with this, or a way I can get around it so that I can update?

        Hello,
You can download the latest version and install it instead of updating your existing version:
sam.nrel.gov/download
When you install the new version in Windows, it will install in a different folder than the older version so you will have both versions installed on your computer. The two versions run independently of each other, so you can keep them both for comparisons, or you can remove the older version by running the unins00.exe program in its installation folder.
Best regards,
Paul.
