Comparing LCPV to PV in Singapore was created by johan broholm
Hi,
Im interested in using SAM to test if LCPV and HCPV can be a suitable solution in Singapore compared to normal PV's.
First of all, I haven't been able to find the right weather data for Singapore or any of the neighbouring countries, anyone know where this can be found in the right format?
Furthermore, I am not entirely sure how to see which of the PV products in the database is actually Low concentrating PV products? Or how this can be specified manually in the SAM-program?

Hello,
Please see this post for a list of commercial websites that provide weather data in formats that SAM can read.
As far as I know, the only CPV module in either the CEC or Sandia libraries is the Entech 22X module in the Sandia library.
SAM can model modules that use only the direct component of the incident solar radiation. You can use the "Concentrating PV Simple Efficiency Model" on the Module page to specify parameters of a CPV module. SAM does not currently model CPV modules that use a portion of the diffuse radiation -- that is something we are considering for the next version.
Best regards,
Paul.
