Hi Anton,
What kind of Mac are you using? We do run PySAM on Mac computers -- it should work on Windows, Mac, and Linux. I have heard from SAM desktop application users having some trouble with the new MacBook Pro with the M2 chip.
There are some code examples in the PySAM code repository using Jupyter notebooks: github.com/NREL/pysam/tree/main/Examples .
Best regards,
Paul.

Hi Anton,
We have been able to reproduce this issue on a MacBook Pro with the M1 Max chip and in a Debian 11 aarch64 Docker container.
Running your script in a Debian 11 amd64 (x86_64) Docker container generates results consistent with those in Windows.
This is a problem we will fix, but for now, you can use a Docker amd64 container to run your script. See this GitHub issue to track our progress: github.com/NREL/ssc/issues/1023
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Best regards,
Paul.

Hi Paul,
Thank you for addressing this quickly I do appreciate it. I see that the PR has been merged now does that mean that this fix is in production with nrel-pysam 4.1.0?
If not how do I access this fix? Or when will it be available?
Regards.
Anton

Hi Anton,
This should be available in the update that follows PySAM 4.1.0 (I think that will be 4.2.0). We are working on that update now, and should release it within the next week or so.
Best regards,
Paul.

Hi Paul,
Any update on this release?
Having this bug fixed would be super helpful for me as switching over to a different cpu architecture is a bit tricky for me.
Thank you,
Anton
