Mismatch in output for PySAM and SAM for Pvsamv1 was created by sophieandrews
I’m currently trying to run the default Pvsamv1 model in both SAM and PySAM. I want to use the simple model (module_model = 0). In the outputs, the annual energy and performance ratio match, but the capacity factor and energy yield are much larger in SAM. I compared hourly power generated in PySAM and SAM and those match. I’m attaching my PySAM code with its output in a comment at the bottom. Do you know what could be the reason for this discrepancy? Thank you!

Hi Sophie,
The pvsamv1 module reports to different capacity factor values. The one that appears on the Summary tab in SAM is "capacity_factor", which is different the "capacity_factor_ac" that your script uses.
The capacity factor is calculated based on the system's nameplate capacity in DC kW, and the AC capacity factor is calculated baed on the total inverter capacity in AC kW.
Best regards,
Paul.
