Shift-F5 for generating LK code was created by Paul Gilman
I see in one of your replies that it is possible to generate a LK script from a SAM project. Is that right?. I try to do so (shift-F5) but it only runs the simulation and no code is generated. Am I missing some step?
When you generate an LK script from a SAM case for the CSP tower model, a popup window appears behind the SAM main window. You have to click OK in the popup window to continue generating the code, so you'll have to find the popup to do so (you can use Shift-Tab in Windows to find it).
We will fix this issue in the next version of SAM.
Best regards,

Paul.

Hi Paul, thanks for the reply.

Shame on me, I can't find this window. I just open the SAM model, then run it (shift-F5), then it just appears one window that says: Simulating Flux Maps and that's it. I try the Shit-Tab to find any hidden window but no success. Anyway I'll keep trying.

Best regards,
Jesus

Dear Jesus,

In the window that says "simulating flux maps," click Close when the simulation ends, and then go to the folder that you chose to save the LK script. The process should work like this:

1. Start SAM and open or create the file for the power tower system.

2. Click Shift-F5.

3. Choose a folder to save the .lk file for the tower model.

4. When the flux map simulation finishes, click Close in the Simulation window.

5. Choose a folder to save the .lk file for the financial model.

6. Go to the folder you chose in Step 1 to find the .lk file for the tower model.

In the next version of SAM, the folder containing the .lk files will automatically open.

Best regards,
Paul.
