Using more than 8760 values in SRW file was created by taina
Hi Paul,
I am interested in using the NCEP series of hourly data: wind speed and direction, pressure and temperature, from 1979 to 2010, in SAM.
However, we are not sure on how to modify the SRW files structure to accept more than 8760 values.
Is there a way I can do that?
Many thanks!
Taina

Dear Taina,
SAM's wind power model assumes that an hourly data file contains 8760 rows of data. If you have data that spans multiple years, you will have to divide the data into a set of files with one file for each year. If your data includes February 29 for leap years, you should remove that data from the file because SAM does not account for leap years.
Best regards,
Paul.
