SAM Performance Ratio calculation was created by csmichels
Dear Paul,

In a simulation I have the following values:

Annual Energy: 3665172
PR: 0.86
Annual Nominal POA total radiation: 3.05789e+007
Input radiation: 2.89258e+007 (this is after shading and soiling)
Module Efficiency: 15.1157%

Why the PR is 86% This value seems unreasonably high for the annual PR, even more when i do these calculations:

PR_1: Annual Energy / (Annual Nominal POA x Mod efficiency) = 79.2%
PR_2: Annual Energy / (Input Radiation POA x Mod efficiency) = 83.8% (this is how SAM calculates PR according to the documentation).

Could you help me where's the problem with my calculation?

Kind Regards

I reply to myself,

SAM is calculating the PR in the following way:

PR = Net AC energy / Input Radiation x Mod Efficiency . This means, SAM is correcting for soiling and availability of the PV powerplant.
