Help with SAM Simulation was created by Paul Gilman
I would like to run a simulation with steam CSP tower and storage using PCM capsules. Can I get some help in configuring the simulation?
When I increase the steam collection temperature, the LCOE costs go up. Am I doing something wrong with the inputs?
SAM does not model direct steam tower systems with storage, or phase-change thermal storage.
In the direct steam tower model, changing the steam temperature may affect the LCOE if it results in a change in the system's net electrical output without a corresponding change in installation or operating costs. You should account for any additional costs associated with the higher temperature on the System Costs page.
When you change the power cycle outlet temperature, you are changing the design-point temperature, which should correspond to the design-point cycle efficiency that you specify. When you change the design-point temperatures, you should also change the design-point cycle efficiency.
Best regards,

Paul.
