I have downloaded SAM 2014.11.24 for Windows and registered and confirmed with key code during installation. But it is asking for verification every time when I open the app. Also, it does not open when there is no internet connection.
SAM requires an internet connection each time you start the software to either register your key or confirm it. Once you've registered, if you start SAM while your computer is not connected to the internet, it displays the Registration window with your key and a message about not being able to connect to NREL to confirm your key. When that happens, you can skip the registration process (SAM allows you to do this up to 15 times) to run SAM.
If you plan to use SAM off line frequently, you can start SAM while your computer is on line so that it can confirm the key, and then either use the sleep or hibernate option to turn off your computer instead of completely shutting it down. Then, when you turn on your computer without the internet connection, SAM will be available to run.
