I am trying to find out how SAM calculates parabolic dish collector costs. Does it use an equation from another source? Any help you can offer would be much appreciated.
As with all of the technologies SAM can model, the dish-Stirling system costs are values that you provide as inputs to the model. We have chosen default values that roughly represent general costs in the United States to help you get started running SAM, but you should do your own research to find costs appropriate for your analysis.
For more on costs in SAM with a list of references of the data sources we used to develop the default costs, see the
System Cost Data page
.
Best regards,
Paul.
