Windows SmartScreen blocks installation of SAM 2014.11.24 was created by bobsil
When attempting to install SAM on Windows 8.1 Pro by running sam-windows-2014-11-24.exe, Windows SmartScreen says "
Windows protected your PC
Windows SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk."
An option is provided to run anyway, but I think I'll just stick with the old version until this is resolved.

Hello,
Microsoft's SmartScreen Filter is designed to help you avoid running potentially malicious software from unknown sources. In order for SmartScreen to identify SAM as safe, we would need to purchase something called an "EV code signing certificate" from one of two private companies that sell the certificates. We do not have plans to certify SAM for now.
You may see similar warnings from other browsers and operating systems.
There's more about SmartScreen and code signing on this Microsoft blog .
Best regards,
Paul.
