We have ran the design of a Power Tower with the default inflation rates and discount rates. We, then, changed the inflation rate to 2% and the real discount rate to 5% and the LCOE calculated by SAM didn't change accordingly. We would like to teach the students how to use SAM with realistic inputs so they can manipulate SAM according to their needs. Obviously, decreasing the interest rate should result in a lower LCOE than the LCOE with the default values. Please explain what needs to be done so the answer from SAM reflects the design parameters that we put in, rather than the default values.
