Software Freezes on Project Startup

Working on project file. Everything running smoothly until I tried to edit a sixth, and final, case in the project file. File will open but freeze. Cannot select tab to rename sixth case or select any of the other cases. All cases include a single parametric analysis. This is a fairly straight forward residential example with three different utility rate structures, two climate zones and two different sets of modules/inverters; essentially out-of-state and made in Washington State to model state incentives.

Have run numerous results and edited graphs. Saved cash flow data in *.csv format successfully.

Worked great until I tried to add this one last example and edit utility data.

Other sample files open and run successfully so software itself works fine.

There is a limit to the number of cases you can have in a SAM file because of the way the software uses memory to display the user interface. The more cases in a file, the more user interface elements are stored in computer memory. As you add cases to a file, at some point the available memory on your computer is used up.

You can minimize this issue by closing other memory-intensive applications, or you can just avoid having more than five or so cases in your file. The maximum number of cases that will work depends on your computer's memory and what other applications are running.

This issue shoould be resolved in the the next version of SAM (scheduled for an initial Beta release late this fall).
