Are taxes applied to downloaded utility rates? was created by bobmillsap
I've noticed that, at least for my area, the downloaded energy buy rates in the Utility Rate tab do not appear to include applicable taxes. Are taxes and kWh surcharges added somewhere else in the program(PVWatts Residential)?
thanks, Bob

Dear Bob,
The values you see on the Utility Rate page are the only values SAM uses to represent the electricity rate structure. Because there are not separate inputs for the various kinds of charges, you will need to add up all of the charges, including any taxes and fees, and assign them to the appropriate input. For example, you would assign all kWh charges that do not vary with time or consumption to the Flat Buy Rate input ($/kWh), and any fixed charges to Fixed Monthly Charge ($), etc.
If the data from the Utility Rate Database (URDB) is incorrect, you may want to contact the URDB team to let them know. To do that, you can use the URDB community forum .
For more detail on residential and commercial projects and utility rates, see the Residential and Commercial Utility Rates webinar.
Best regards,
Paul.
