Dear Friend
I am studying a photovoltaic case that is a sample of the new version (central 20 MW). In the PV system cost section appear the direct (module, inverter, BOS ...) and indirect capital cost (permitting, engineering ...), but I don´t know if the shipping equipment cost is include an where (direct or indirect costs)? would it be international or national shipping? what is the suppouse?
What is installer margin and what are the suppouses with respect to the grid interconnection? is there a new version of the user guide 2.0?
By the way, why this sample don´t contemplate the replacement inverter costs?, would it be better evaluated to 30 years and 15 years replacement inverters?
Thanks and sorry for too much questions, any reply I will be grateful

Dear Alejandro,
The default costs that we provide in SAM are intended to help you get started using the model, and do not represent actual costs for any real project. It is your responsibility to provide costs for your project, and it is up to you how you want to assign costs to the categories available in SAM. SAM provides enough detail in the cost categories to help you keep track of the project costs, but not as much detail as you would find in a detailed cost model.
Keep in mind that SAM uses the total installed cost in calculations, which is the sum of all of the categories on the System Costs page, so it does not really matter how you assign different costs to the categories.
For documentation of the default costs for the different performance models, please see the System Cost Data page of this website.
The most up-to-date version of SAM's user documentation is the Help system, which you can get to from SAM's Help menu. We have also posted a copy on the website's , both in HTML and as a very large PDF.
You correctly note that SAM does not explicitly model equipment replacement. I've described a technique you can use to model inverter replacements in How to Handle Planned Replacements in SAM (e.g., Inverter Replacements).
Best regards,
Paul.
