Hi. I've guessed that "SWRF" stands for SAM Wind Resource File. Can you please confirm this? Thank you!
Yes it does, but that's an out-dated format now. The wind model in the newer versions of SAM use the SRW format (which I suppose must stand for "SAM Resource Wind." It is described along with the other weather file formats in SAM's Help system:
