Tiered rates show strange values was created by wwu123
Just started using SAM with download of 2014.1.14 version to model my new PV solar install. The calculations of electricity without solar seemed low when using PG&E tiered rates, so I stripped down all the values and found strange calculation results. If I put just a single kwh (unit=1) into the first tier, nearly all the pricing is using the tier 1 rates. If I put 0.5 kwh into the first tier, then nearly everything goes into the 2nd tier pricing. Pretty much the allocation between Tier 1 and Tier 2 is exponential with values from 0 to 2.

Hello,
Would you mind attaching a copy of your file to your original post (click Edit, and then scroll to the bottom to see the attachment options)?
SAM's tiers do not accumulate monthly as you might expect, but instead apply to each hour. That may be causing the results you observe.
Best regards,
Paul.
