SVAL Lookup Error running with created TMY3 file was created by matlaw
I seem to have a problem running with the attached TMY3 file. I can view the hourly data fine, but get this error after running (I get no errors when running a SAM TMY3 file). Not sure I understand the error messages - seems to be related to zenith/azimuth angles but unclear how that would relate to the weather TMY3 file.

Dear Matthew,
The error messages that SAM displays when there is a problem with the weather file are not very helpful. That's because SAM assumes that the weather file is correctly formatted. It does not perform any checks on the data in the weather file, so it has no information about the quality of the data.
The best way to ensure that your weather file is in the correct format is to use SAM's TMY3 weather creator to create the file. To use it, you cut and paste data into a table, and SAM creates a file with the correct TMY3 format.
I took a quick look at your file and noticed that the solar radiation values suggest that sunrise is in the 4:00 hour on January first for a location with a latitude of 18 degrees. Is that what you intended? It is possible that this offset is causing the simulation error.
Best regards,
Paul.

Dear Paul
I have a similar error when I run SAM. But I use a default weather file which is in the program for the US.
I am new to SAM, so I started to try to use it with the data provided before I search for my data. But it doesn't work.

Dear Vero,
What kind of a system are you modeling? It is possible that something other than the weather file is causing the error. Would you mind emailing me your SAM file? You can use the website contact form or email sam dot support at nrel dot com.
Best regards,
Paul.
