References for Linear Fresnel Costs was created by Paul Gilman
Is there a document describing the source of the default linear Fresnel costs? I don't see any mentioned on the System Costs page.
We do not have a specific reference for the default linear Fresnel costs. The power block and some of the other costs are based on those for the parabolic trough model (without the steam generation system). We also used some costs from the direct steam power tower model. Solar field costs are from an internal NREL industry survey.
As always, the default costs in SAM are intended to help you get started with your analysis. They do not represent NREL's assessment of project costs for a given kind of project. It is your responsibility to research costs as appropriate for your analysis.
Best regards,

Paul.

Is there an update of this subject?

My best regards,

Hi Sebastián,

The latest information about default costs for SAM's CSP configurations is here: sam.nrel.gov/concentrating-solar-power/csp-cost-data.html

SAM's default costs are consistent with the data for the NREL Annual Technology Baseline (ATB) for Electricity: atb.nrel.gov/

The focus on these cost analyses is largely on parabolic troughs and power towers. Those systems share some components with linear Fresnel systems.

Best regards,
Paul.
