I download epw weather files for Egypt cities but an error message appears when selecting the file in the program. Please tell me how to get the weather file or what is the problem? the link of the site that from i download the epw files is:
apps1.eere.energy.gov/buildings/energyplus/cfm/weather_data3.cfm/region=1_africa_wmo_region_1/country=EGY/cname=Egypt

Dear Mohamed Said,
Can you tell me which files you are having trouble with? I tested the Cairo.Intl.Airport_ETMY, Aswan.624140_ETMY, and Aswan.624140_IWEC files, and they worked fine with the physical trough model.

when i start simulation this message appears
failed to read local weather file: C:/SAM/EGY_Cairo.Intl.Airport.623660_ETMY.epw error reading data column type specifier in col 1 of 34: 'typical/extreme periods' len: 23
Simulation windpower failed.

Hello,

SAM's wind power model requires a weather file in the SRW format. It does not work with EPW or other file formats designed for solar resource data.

For a description of the SRW format, please see the "Weather File Formats" topic under "Weather Data" in SAM's help system.
