        Hi Paul,
I am modelling dish-stirling systems for Turkey Ankara climate conditions.
I am doing a parametric simulation for receiver aperture diameter to look over the annual energy and receiver loss values.
I think i have two options to look at the losses.
First one is, substracting receiver outlet power from inlet power.
Second one is, looking the total receiver losses at the results page (tables).
But the first and second one is not equal.
I am attaching the files that i get from the results.
Thank you

        Hello,
In the spreadsheet you attached, it appears to me that the values in Column C (in-out) and D (Total Receiver Losses (MW), hourly) are equal. There are small differences due to rounding error, but I think you can consider those values to be equivalent.
Best regards,
Paul.

        Thank you Paul.
But when i sum all the values over a year, column C equals 5.695 MWh, column D equals 5.996 MWh.
300 kWh seems like a slightly big difference to me.
So which one should i use as the total receiver loss?
Best wishes
Gülin

        Dear Gülin,
I would use the value calculated by SAM rather than the value you calculated in the spreadsheet.
Best regards,
Paul.
