Does the "Land Estimate Area" take into account the size of the central inverters or do I have to manually calculate their footprints and add that to SAM,s calculated acreage? and does that also hold true for the BESS units?

By default, the PV land area estimate only includes the "ground occupied by array" component because the default value of "land area multiplier" is one and the default value of "additional land area" is zero.

You can add additional land for inverters, batteries, and other space requirements by changing the land area multiplier and/or additional land area.
