Hello !

My name is Mario Montero. I work for ICE (the state owned utility of Costa Rica).

I m trying to make SAM ingest our solar station data for some feasibility studies. Data is from a secondary standard pyranometer.  Its 25 years of data (minutal averaged hourly GHI and temperature), albeit, broken and certainly with a some of "holes" or blanks in it. So far it seems:

1. SAM only accepts one year of reindexed perfect 8760 lines data for one year.  But, produces no annual avg for GHI, we guess because of the data holes or blanks.
2. We have not been able to load multi annual data, even perfectly reindexed.

Should we build a TMY file and make SAM ingest that ?  Is there another way to make SAM ingest the data?

Thank you in avance for your help.

Mario.

PS. File was cut by a few years to fit, and coordinates are not real.

Hi Mario,

SAM's solar performance models require a weather file with one complete year of data, and no data gaps. Please see the "SAM CSV Format for Solar" topic in Help for a description of the file format and its requirements:  samrepo.nrelcloud.org/help/weather_format_sam_csv_solar.html .

Best regards,
Paul.
