So I replaced the .lk file and ran the sizing macro until I got rid of the errors "Increase/decrease the number of inverters or modules in string.... But now my NPV is negative.

Hello,
For a behind-the-meter project, the negative NPV is an indication that the project costs may be higher than the electricity bill savings over the project life.
See the "Net Present Value" topic in Help for a list of possible reasons the NPV is negative and ways to make it more positive: samrepo.nrelcloud.org/help/mtf_npv.html .
