How To Apply Multiple Rates Within A Single Tier/Period For The UAE was created by Ahmed Abdulrasheed
Hello guys,
Ive been having an issue trying to apply the different electricity within a single tier or period
In The UAE, The rate is 0.055 $/kWh Below 2000kWh a month And The rate is 0.074 $/kWh if it exeeds 2000kWh
Assuming consistent usage throughout the day And 0.8$/W for the system price
https://www.filemail.com/d/ipecdxezfndurcf www.filemail.com/d/ipecdxezfndurcf or ive attached the file as well, (USE THE NONLOCAL TAB)
Is my method of implementing mixed electricity rates correct as per the attached link ?
The discounted payback period is absurd and I cant find my way out to fix this issue
It would be great to fix the payback period... we dont have an excess grid feeding system in this country, so consider any excess as "non sellable"
The last page ive included the monthly consumption as well.

Hi Ahmed,
On the Electricity Rates page, you have specified the Net Energy Metering option for compensation of excess generation, which means that any excess generation is effectively being credited to the project at the retail buy rate. You mention that excess generation is "non sellable," so you should choose either the Net Billing option and set the sell rate in the energy charge table to zero.
Also, there is a mistake in the energy charge table: You have specified Period 1 and Period 2 in the table, but only Period 1 is defined in the Weekday and Weekend schedules. For a tiered rate with no time-of-use periods, you should specify Period 1 for both rows, and Tier 1 and Tier 2 for the Period 1 tiers like this:
Best regards,
Paul.
