Hello everyone.
I am about to use NREL SAM to model the integration of PV and wind turbines to supply power for an ammonia production. My goal is to investigate the amount of green ammonia that can be produced and also to perform a cost analysis like LCOA, (A= ammonia). As my academic background is in electrical power engineering, I will also focus on the ammonia production part, but I don't know how to begin modeling ammonia production using NREL SAM.
If anyone has experience, suggestions, or can recommend tools or methods for modeling the ammonia production side, I would be very grateful for your advice. Thank you very much for your time and kind support.

Best regards,
Hiu

Hi Hiu,

SAM has models for systems that generate electrcity and for systems that generate heat. It does not have models for processes or equipment that use the electricity or heat, so you will have to model those outside of SAM.

Best regards,
Paul.
