Merchant Solar + Storage Revenue Drops to Zero in Yr 7 was created by William Maxwell
Paul,
I am simulating a merchant solar and LFP storage plant located in Texas. I have taken both ERCOT energy market (LMP) and ancillary services (AS) hourly data from the years 2022-2024 and repeated them multiple times to achieve a total of 25 years of data (219,000 rows per .csv). I uploaded those to the Revenue page and split the revenue 40% energy market and each 20% to 3 different ancillary services (60%) for a total of 100%
According to my Cash Flow tab, all revenue stops abruptly in year 8. Why did all revenue stop? What factors can I look at to debug this issue?
The simulation in question is attached and the case is titled "Merchant, Solar/Storage, Auto".

Hi William,
The revenue goes to zero at the end of Year 7 when you use 15-minute weather data with hourly pricing data.
You can avoid this by using price data that has the same time step as the weather data. For hourly pricing data, use an hourly weather file.
Best regards,
Paul.
