Hello Paul, thank you for the reply! Please look at the Parametrics section in the file attached above, azimuths from 100 to 260 are used there, and panel tilt angles are also changed. In this case, if the panel is turned to, for example, A=140 T=40 (i.e. partially oriented to the east), the generation in the morning hours exceeds the generation at midday, but, as I know, this is not true, the generation at 12 PM should exceed it. We can also see a sharp drop in generation, although it should not be there ( Fig. 1, data exported from SAM, time has been shifted one hour ahead to match the regional time). In the attached image we see the mentioned sharp drop after 1 PM, for these runs wich used: Isotropic Sky Diffuse Model, Weather File Irradiance Data — DNI and DHI, PVGIS weather data. This is observed with Isotropic Sky Diffuse Model as well as the others. I also have a question regarding the output of data from SAM from the “Parametrics” section. As I understood, they can be exported to Excel and Csv, but the data in the files are different from what is shown on the graphs in the program, I will attach a comparison below (Fig.2, Fig.3, for it I choose run 6). Are the graphs in SAM smoothed or is it an error? Because for calculations I wanted to choose the sunniest days according to SAM. I attach images (3):

Hi Maxim,

The "test 10 kWt pv.sam" file you attached does not seem to have anything set up on the Parametrics page.

You may want to also create plots of "Irradiance DNI from weather file (W/m2)" to see the effect of the irradiance data on the results.

The "tips and tricks" section of the Parametric Simulations topic in Help explains how to create a case with inputs that match a given parametric run. You can use this technique (right-click row heading and select Create new case) to see all of the outputs for a parametric run:

Best regards,
Paul.

Hi Maxim,

Attached is a copy of your file with a case that I generated from the Parametrics page for Run 6, and one that I created for Azimuth = 180.

On the Time Series tab, I plotted the following variables:

Irradiance DHI from weather file (W/m2)
Irradiance DNI from weather file (W/m2)
Subarray 1 Angle of incidence (degrees)
Subarray 1 POA total irradiance after shading soiling reflection (IAM) (W/m2)

For Run 6, Tilt = 70°, Azimuth = 100° (facing E/SE):

And for Tilt = 70°, Azimuth = 180°:

For the east-facing array, the plane-of-array (POA) irradiance is greater in the morning than at noon because it collects more solar energy in the morning when it is facing the sun. For the south-facing array, the maximum POA irradiance is at noon.

Best regards,
Paul.
