Error - could not contact nrel for wind resource using location lookup was created by davescha
"Could not contact http:/mapsdb.nrel.gov/wwis/distance?year=2005lat=45.5235&lon=-122.676" when doing a wind resource location. I realize west coast info is simulated. Closest wind resource I can locate to Portland, Oregon is "OR Northern-Flat Lands" which has higher wind speeds than our area. Tried looking up "Portland, OR" in location look-up, the progress bar goes about 1/3 of way then posts and error.
Also on a seperate side note regarding access to cost publications on NREL, in the Wind Section, the link to "The Past and Future Cost of Wind Energy" seems to broken as the request times out.
Thanks!!
Update
Sorry, looks like I didn't hit the attach button on the screen shot of the error msg

Hello,
The wind data servers should be working now.
NREL is in the process of updating the web servers that host the wind resource and other data that SAM uses. We expect periodic download problems during this period. Please continue let us know when you experience download problems so that we can try to temporarily address them until the updating work is finished.
Best regards,
Paul.
