Molten salt power tower with no storage was created by antonio.avila
Hello Paul,
I would like to know how does a molten salt power tower behaves when there is no thermal storage:
- How do you manage the parasitics losses of keeping the salts at constant temperature during transient or night periods?,
- Do I have to include any factor in the parasitic slide?,
- For the calculation of the LCOE, I supposed I have to consider or the construction of a buffer tank to storage the receiver salts (where you drained it during night periods) or the extra cost of using fossil burners or electric heat tracing.

On the other hand, I have checked the direct steam generation system. I observe you consider the same parasitic losses for the system as for the molten salt power tower. I am a little worried because I have done several simulations with defaults values for both technologies without storage and I get similar parasitic efficiencies. Could you give me any clue?

Thanks in advance.
Antonio
