Simulation failure (CSP) was created by Pedrocasti
Hello dear users of SAM

Today I have been using SAM to try simulate the CSP Gemasolar located in Spain. When I have finished filling all the paramenters and I have clicked on the Simulate bottom, then SAM has generated the following message:

I was wondering if someone could help me to solve this problem, because I am not an expert using SAM.
So, any thoughts on what is going wrong?

Thanks so much
Kind regards, Pedro

Hi Pedro,

That error message indicates that the simulation failed, but it is unclear why.

Please attach a copy of your .sam file if you would like help troubleshooting.

You might also try searching the forum (use the Search box at the top right) for "gemasolar" to find other posts on the topic.

Best regards,
Paul.

Hi Pedro,

Attached is a version of the file from sam.nrel.gov/concentrating-solar-power/csp-validation.html that should work in SAM 2023.12.17.

When you download a weather file on the Location and Resource page, I would recommend using either the latitude and longitude of the project site as the location, or its street address. If you simply use "gemasolar" you may get a weather file for the wrong location.

Best regards,
Paul.
