How to set the Individual grid export limits for hybrid system. was created by pv-cad@solarcomplex.de
Hello Team,
I am trying to simulate the system with Grod export limitation for both wind and solar. 100 % wind generated energy will be exported to the grid and just few percentage of the pv generating energy will be exported to the grid. Is there any possiblity to simulate such conditions in SAM.
Thak You.
Regards,
Pranav

Hello,
For the hybrid configurations in SAM, the inputs on the Grid Limits page apply to the combined output of the different power generators in the system, so it is not possible to use those to limit solar and wind power separately.
You could use the "system availability" loss inputs on the PV Losses page and the Wind Farm page to limit the output of the PV and wind subsystems separately. This approach does not control where the curtailed PV power goes (charge the battery, meet the load, etc.)
Depending on your design, you might be able to accomplish what you you need by designing a battery manual dispatch schedule to charge the battery during the day when the PV subsystem generates power, but this approach would require some trial and error with different dispatch schedules and PV and battery sizes to meet the export limit requirements.
Best regards,
Paul.
It's not clear from your description where you want the curtailed power from the PV system to goHowever, I'm not sure what
