Hi Prasad NS,
You can download wind resource data for locations in India from the NREL Developer Network India Wind Toolkit Data Downloads API:
developer.nrel.gov/docs/wind/wind-toolkit/india-wind-download/
To use the API, you will need to sign up for an API key for the NREL Developer Network:
developer.nrel.gov/signup/
Unfortunately, the file format used by the API is different from the file format required by SAM's Wind Power model, so you will need to reformat the data for it to work. See SAM Help for a description of the SAM CSV Format for Wind:
samrepo.nrelcloud.org/help/weather_format_csv_wind.html
Best regards,
Paul.

Dear Paul,
Thanks.
Following your guidance got the API key. Got into the following India (/api/wind-toolkit/v2/wind/india-wind-download)
However, after entering the URL and "Request for parameters." it is not moving ahead. An email needs to be received , as explained therein, But not getting the email and proceeding further.
Request you to pls look into and revert.
Regards,
NS Prasad

Hi NS Prasad,
Here is an example of a URL that should result in a file download directly to your computer. You can try it in a web browser after replacing the placeholders with your email address and API key.:
developer.nrel.gov/api/wind-toolkit/v2/wind/india-wind-download.csv?wkt=POINT (75.36621 24.726874)&names=2014&email=&leap_day=false&utc=false&interval=60&api_key=
After you download the CSV file, if you want to use it with SAM's Wind Power model, you will need to modify it so that it meets the requirements described in the "SAM CSV Format for Wind" topic in SAM's Help system: samrepo.nrelcloud.org/help/weather_format_csv_wind.html .
Best regards,
Paul.
