10min instead of hourly wetaher data was created by SOULEYMANE
Hello,

I'd like to know if it is possbile to compute SAM with 10-minute weather data instead of hourly weather data.

An exchange from June 2012 had already addressed this question ( sam.nrel.gov/forum/forum-general/205-hourly-radiation.html ) and said that SAM algorithms would be adapted to work with smaller time steps.

Thank you.

Hi Zakaria,

That is an old post. SAM should run with 10-minute weather data or with weather data time steps of up to one minute.

SAM automatically determines the time step based on the number of rows in the weather file, so you do not need to change any settings to run subhourly simulations.

Any other time series data that you use as input, such as load data, time series price data, etc. should have the same time step as the weather data.

Best regards,
Paul.
