Demand Charge Issue was created by Alvaro
Hi!Could you help me with the following error:
I am trying to make the model prioritize battery discharge when energy is more expensive. I have already uploaded the price profile, and it works fine, but when I add the demand charges, this error appears. Do you know what it could be?
Code:
exec fail(lib_utility_rate_equations): Demand rate Period 0 not found for Month 0. Simulation battery failed: exec fail(lib_utility_rate_equations): Demand rate Period 0 not found for Month 0.

Hi Alvaro,
This appears to be a bug with the Retail Rate battery dispatch option that we fixed for the next update to SAM 2023.12.17, which we plan to release in early July 2024. My colleagues are investigating, and I will follow up when I hear from them.
The way the demand charge rates are set up in the file you attached, there are no demand charges, so I think you can work around the bug by disabling the demand charges.
Best regards,
Paul.

Hi Alvaro,
This is a known issue that we have fixed for SAM 2023.12.17 r2, which we hope to release in early July 2024.
