Battery Not Dispatching Fully was created by Aigonzc97
Hello, I have a problem with the full discharge of the battery. I am simulating 16MWh but it only discharges around 10MWh. What could be the cause of this?

Hi Alvaro,
As defined on the Battery Cell and System page, the battery in your system has 16 MWhdc of storage capacity and a maximum discharge rate of 4 MWdc.
On the Battery Dispatch page, the battery minimum state of charge is 5%, and the battery is allowed to discharge to the load at 100% of its available capacity between 6 pm and 8 am.
These are the parameters that determine how the battery discharges. You can adjust them as needed.
If this information does not help answer your question, please provide more information -- I'm not sure exactly what you mean by the battery discharging around 10 MWh.
Best regards,
Paul.

Hi Alvaro,
You can see in the "Battery state of charge (%)" column that the battery stops discharging when the state of charge reaches the minimum of 5%.
Best regards,
Paul.

Hello Paul, thanks for the response. However, I still have a doubt, because even if I set 100% efficiency and 100% discharge, I still don't reach the 16MWh.

Hi Alvaro,
I would expect the sum of "electricity from battery to load" to be close to the nominal 16 MWh capacity for a range of time when the battery discharges from the maximum state of charge 99% to the minimum state of charge 5%. (The maximum and minimum SOC are defined at the top of the Battery Dispatch page.)
Your SUM() formula adds kWh for hours that go from 78.6% SOC to 5% SOC, so the battery discharges approximately 73.6% of its capacity: 0.736 * 16 MWh = 11.8 MWh, which is close to the 10.6 MWh you calculated.
There are some thermal and electrical losses as the battery charges and discharges that account for the remaining 1.2 MWh.
Best regards,
Paul.
