Flux map for import vs. flux map intensities was created by Harry Morgan
Hi Paul,

Could please clear up the difference between the flux map intensities and the flux map for import within the SPT results? Very different values are present for each and I am wondering what this difference is?

Could you please also advice how these values could be used going forward? thank you

Kind regards,

Harry

Hi Harry,

“Flux map intensities” shows for various solar positions (rows) the average incident flux on each panel at the design DNI. This information can help users understand flux patterns and the location and intensity of max flux.

“Flux map for import” is an output that we use as an input to our scripts when we want to bypass the SolarPILOT call at the beginning of the simulation by using a pre-populated flux map. It is in different units because the interface between SolarPILOT and SAM uses normalized values.
