Run PVWatts iteratively for multiple locations was created by virenpasalkar
Hello,
I am trying to run PVWatts iteratively for different locations. Is there any way one can do it? And capture and store the output?
To run it for one location, you have to select the weather file for that location, can it be iteratively done? Or do I have to use python? If yes, could you direct me to the guide please?
Thank you!
Best,
Viren Pasalkar

Hi Viren,
There are a couple of ways you can run a series of simulations for a set of weather files.
One is to use Parametric simulations as described in the "Parametric Simulations for a Collection of Weather Files" video on the Simulation Options page of the SAM website: sam.nrel.gov/simulation-options.html
Another is to write an LK script. For more on LK script, see sam.nrel.gov/lk-script.html . For a sample script that runs a simulation over a set of weather files, see github.com/NREL/SAM/blob/develop/samples/LK%20Scripts%20for%20SAM/solar-resource-simulate-multiple-files.lk
Best regards,
Paul.
