Dear Sirs,

I would like to know if there is an option to set a Maximum Temperature Limit for superheated steam generated in Fresnel solar fields in order to avoid any damage in receivers. When DNI solar irradiation is below design point, superheated steam from Fresnel colectors is above the design point temperature, could you explain me the physical phenomenon?

Best Regards,

Luis Coco EnrĂquez

Dear Luis,

There is not an input to limit the steam temperature. However, you can see the field temperatures in the hourly outputs. If those temperatures are higher than is acceptable for your system, you can adjust the inputs to lower the temperatures.

Please see the help topic for the linear Fresnel Solar Field page for an explanation of why the field outlet temperature may be higher than the design point. The outlet temperature is dependent on the ratio of the heat absorbed by the boiler to the heat absorbed by the superheater. The number of of modules in the boiler and superheater section can cause the temperature to be much higher than you expect.

Best regards,
Paul.
