Wavelength of solar radiation components was created by mindamonteagudo
Hi, is there a specific wavelength range SAM expects for each solar irradiance component? I know you can use GHI, DNI and/or DHI from NSRDB, but if you wanted to supply other solar data to SAM, would they need to be fields of direct and diffuse shortwave radiation, or just the visible component of shortwave? I don't see a wavelength given in the SAM Photovoltaic Model Technical Manual, just references to "solar irradiance". Thank you!

Hi Minda,
SAM's photovoltaic models use any two of DNI, DHI, and GHI data as input (or, as an option POA irradiance data). Spectral effects are accounted for in the module model, which applies an empirical adjustment like the one described in the PV technical manual's Equation 10.24 for the CEC module model.
There is not an option for providing solar irradiance data for different wavelengths.
Best regards,
Paul.
