BATTERY STATE OF CHARGE was created by jlsilva
Dear fellas,
How are you? Hoping everything is fine.
I've been trying to design a hybrid system, using PV panels and storage (battery 48V and 100Ah).
I design my battery bank capacity with 53kWh and run a couple of test varying Bank Power, from 1.5kW do 7.2kW.
PV system with 28 pv panes (555W power peak)
I set a Grid Outage, once it is the main reason for me to design a hybrid with storage. I set 4 (four) diferent periods of the day for grid outage, each one with 6 (six) hour duration, in order to cover the possibility of a grid outage over entire day of operation.
For Grid Outage, I set a minimum SOC 10% max SOC 97%.
Nevertheless, the results never reach its minimum 10% SOC during outage, it stops in 47%. Although there would exist battery capacity left. I didn't understand why is that.
For instance, for one period of outage:
Critical load
time 1 - 6kW
time 2 - 6kW
time 3 - 6kW
time 4 - 4kW
time 5 - 3kW
time 6 - 2kW
Total demand = 27kWh
SOC (SOC immediately before grid outage starts = 80%. Or rather, the bank capacity of 42,4kkWh)0,6391530,4879940,4820330,4790680,4775850,4775850,4775850,477585
I turns out, that the battery bank didn't reach the minimum outage SOC of 10%, it stopped at 47%. As you can see above, there would exist battery bank capacity to supply the entire demand during the period presented above.
I didn't understand why it doesnt discharged up to 10% in outage.
Would please help to understand?
